Eureka! Nursery's Big Toddler room

Eureka! Nursery is based in the 1855 Building, opposite Eureka! and next door to Halifax Train Station. As the nursery is built on a converted train platform, it has bags of character and plenty of light and space.

Our nursery is split into four open-plan areas, each tailored to different ages and stages of development. Each room is equipped with age-appropriate resources which are easily accessible for the children to enjoy.

We carefully manage the transition between rooms, tailoring this to the development of the individual child rather than their age, and preparing both child and parents for the move.

Getting outdoors

We’re really lucky to have full access to the grounds of Eureka!, such as the giant sand pit and sensory garden, though we also have a private, landscaped play area just for our nursery children. We offer Forest School sessions which are in our nursery play area at the moment, and we hope to secure a dedicated area of woodland for our use in the near future.

Exploring the wooded area in the grounds of Eureka! NurseryWe LOVE getting outside to play, be it covering ourselves in suncream and playing in the giant sandpit, getting kitted out in wellies and splashsuits to go puddle jumping, or just looking for worms and bugs in the nursery garden, so we do ask parents to bring wellies and raincoats, or suncream and hats, depending on the time of year.

Nursery food

Our nursery meals are prepared and cooked fresh each morning by our on-site café with a regularly changing menu. The café team are experts in catering to a wide variety of dietary needs so if your child has any allergies or other requirements, just let us know.
