Eureka! Nursery is in Halifax, West Yorkshire and sits in the grounds of Eureka! The National Children’s Museum, next door to Halifax Train Station – in fact the nursery overlooks the railway line!
We’re based in the 1855 Building – the grand old station building opposite Eureka! Museum. As you look at the building, the entrance to Eureka! Nursery is on the left hand side of the building – see below!
We’re open from 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks per year (closing for occasional training days and for one week at Christmas).
No, we are closed at weekends.
Our availability varies, so the quickest and most reliable way to find out is to give us a call on 01422 252112.
Yes, we are happy to accommodate 2, 3 and 4 year old funded places. Give us a call on 01422 252112 and we’ll talk you through it!
Once you register with us you will need to fill in a couple of forms, which we pass to the Local Authority. The funding will then come straight to us – no need to do anything else!
There are a number of drop-off/pick-up parking bays next to the grassy play area outside Eureka! Nursery. Please note though – no u-turns! If you follow the road around there is a turning circle just behind the museum so please do use it to ensure that everyone is safe in the Eureka! Grounds. See the route on the image below.
Yes please! We do ask parents and carers to bring a supply of nappies and baby milk, and we’ll let you know when the stash is running low. But don’t worry – we do have spares so in the event that you forget or run out, we’ve got you (and your child) covered.
We’ll do whatever you need us to do! Nursery food is prepared and cooked on-site in the Eureka! Café and our team are used to catering for a wide variety of dietary requirements. In short – talk to us, and we’ll take care of it.
Your child’s key worker, or member of the management team, will contact you immediately. It will depend on the severity of the illness as to whether you’ll need to collect them straight away or not, but you can discuss next steps with the staff member that has called you. You can download a copy of our Exclusion Procedure for Illness/Communicable Disease (PDF)
We run open days throughout the year, however you don’t need to wait ‘til then to have a good look around. Just drop in, or give us a call on 01422 252 112 to arrange a tour!
If the nursery is open, you’re welcome to call in for the guided tour – no need to arrange an appointment. You can call us on 01422 252112 to arrange a specific time if you prefer, or drop in during our next Open Day.
Drop us an email or call us on 01422 252 112.
